BANTAM 2 NOVA: The ultra-light wing designed for the mountains

Ready, set, go!

The BANTAM 2 has all the assets to shine in competition, especially in iconic events like the Red Bull Dolomitenmann or Rise & Fall. Thanks to its ultra-short lines, it inflates quickly and efficiently, ideal for quick take-offs on technical terrain. In the air, this ultra-light mountain wing offers improved glide, excellent stability, and a top speed even higher than the first version. Already a multiple winner with Chrigel Maurer, the BANTAM has made its mark in these competitions. With the BANTAM 2, NOVA takes it even further by refining every detail.

A compact and agile companion

The shortened line set and direct handling provide exceptional precision from take-off to landing. The BANTAM 2 shows its natural agility, as demonstrated by Théo de Blic in his “Throw & Go” videos where he takes off from narrow ridges or exposed peaks. Its take-off behavior is even more intuitive, and the feedback through the brakes and risers is even clearer. This mini-wing combines responsiveness and speed for pure flying pleasure. It also remains highly stable even in strong wind conditions. Improved flare and stall behavior ensures soft landings every time.

New design, same philosophy

Thanks to NOVA’s own simulation software, the BANTAM 2’s performance has been finely tuned, building on the experience from the ION 7, ION 7 Light, MENTOR 7, and MENTOR 7 Light models. Staying true to the spirit of the first version, the design has been reworked to meet the needs of a modern, high-performing mountain wing. The profile and arc have been redesigned for more stability, improved efficiency, and better take-off and landing behavior. The aspect ratio has been slightly increased to 4.5 (compared to 4.4 for the first version), enhancing glide. The wing-to-pilot distance has been reduced to 4.3 m, and the weight drops to 1.6 kg in size 12 — 50 grams lighter than the previous generation.

Flying made easy

The BANTAM 2 simplifies every step of your flight. Color-coded sheathed main lines reduce tangles and make preparation quick. The 7 mm risers, reinforced with Kevlar and stiffened, effectively limit twisting. For launches on slippery or uneven ground, the included holding pins allow you to secure the wing to the ground safely. They detach automatically during take-off and remain attached during flight. Nitinol rods in the leading edge maintain profile shape even when accelerated, while making the wing easier to fold compactly. After landing, you can quickly pack your BANTAM 2 and be ready for your next adventure.

Ultra-Light: Lightweight taken to the extreme

Designed for Hike & Fly, mountaineering and vol-biv, the BANTAM 2 is part of NOVA’s Ultra-Light range. Every gram has been optimized to achieve maximum lightness and compactness, without compromising safety. Advanced materials are used to reduce weight while maintaining durability. To ensure the longevity of this wing, careful handling is essential at every stage.

Who is it for?

The BANTAM 2 is designed for pilots who enjoy small, responsive, ultra-light wings. The required pilot skill depends primarily on wing loading. In size 12 (EN D), flown at the top of the weight range, it delivers dynamic and sporty behavior, suitable for experienced pilots. In contrast, the size 14 (EN C) is more mellow when flown in the lower weight range and even allows you to work light thermals.

The BANTAM 2 is ideal for Hike & Fly, Climb & Fly, and for technical competitions such as the Red Bull Dolomitenmann or Rise & Fall.
