An evolution inspired by the X-Alps DNA

The Delight 5 by Supair is part of the history of a harness born in a very demanding environment: the Red Bull X-Alps, where every gram counts and equipment must meet extreme constraints. The first generations were therefore very lightweight harnesses designed for hike & fly competitions. Over the years, the product philosophy evolved to create a cross-country cocoon harness that is accessible, capable of accompanying a wider range of pilots.

Since the third generation, the objective has been clear: to offer a reassuring, comfortable and easy-to-use cocoon. The Delight 5 continues this evolution by retaining the qualities developed through previous versions while moving back toward a lighter design. The Supair design office worked to reduce weight without sacrificing the comfort or protection achieved in the previous generation. The result: around 300 g less than a Delight 4, representing nearly a 10% weight reduction, while maintaining a high level of durability and support.

Stability, comfort and safety for cross-country flying

The DELIGHT series is based on a characteristic chassis designed to prioritize stability. Its carbon seat plate provides a clear seating position and solid support points, allowing the pilot to stay focused on their trajectory without being disturbed by unwanted movements. The harness also helps to smooth the behaviour of the wing, filtering and softening the sensations so that pilots can fly more calmly with modern cross-country wings that are often very communicative.

The enveloping cocoon of the Delight 5 has been designed to provide precise and long-lasting comfort. The supportive seat keeps the pilot securely positioned in the harness, reinforcing the feeling of safety and reducing fatigue during long cross-country flights. This ergonomics makes it particularly suitable for experienced pilots flying high-performance wings, while still remaining accessible to those who want to discover their first cocoon for cross-country flying.

Furthermore, the Delight 5 also offers a high level of safety within its category. Its full-length PLASTAZOTE© back protection protects the pilot from the neck down to the lower thighs thanks to a high-performance structural foam that is effective as soon as the harness is taken out of the bag, regardless of the impact orientation. The stability of the chassis also helps manage the wing more easily when conditions become stronger.

This fifth generation also marks a step up in ergonomics and finishing. The harness integrates several improvements, including a magnetic cockpit, a magnetic speedbag, an optimized reserve pocket, as well as better accessory integration. All these developments allow pilots to focus fully on their flight, with an excellent level of comfort and ease of use.

The Delight 5 primarily seeks balance: the kind that allows pilots to fly for long periods without fatigue, to remain calm in active conditions, and to support pilots during their cross-country paragliding flights. A harness designed for one simple purpose: to fully enjoy flying.

Optimized comfort and improved finishes

This fifth generation of the Delight manages to reduce its weight by around 300 g (nearly 10% compared to the Delight 4) while maintaining the level of ergonomics, comfort and durability that has made the range so successful. The enveloping cocoon, combined with leg straps providing precise support, ensures a stable and comfortable position, particularly appreciated during long hours of cross-country flying.

This evolution is also accompanied by upgraded equipment and improved finishes. The harness now features a magnetic cockpit and a magnetic speedbag, making handling easier both in flight and on the ground, as well as an optimized reserve parachute pocket. All these improvements, combined with careful finishing, make the Delight 5 a harness that is both pleasant to use every day and elegant in its design.

Comprehensive safety, both passive and active

The Delight 5 by Supair focuses on a high level of paragliding safety, both passive and active, to support the pilot throughout all phases of flight. Its full back protection made of structural foam effectively protects the pilot from the neck down to the lower thighs, providing consistent protection regardless of the impact orientation.

In terms of active safety, the harness is based on a stable and easy-to-read chassis that facilitates wing management. This design allows the pilot to maintain precise control of the flight path without being overwhelmed by air mass movements. By filtering and softening the wing’s reactions, the harness also reduces mental fatigue and helps the pilot react more effectively when conditions become more demanding.
