Paragliding Course – Dune du Pilat

What are the objectives of the Dune course?

The goal of the course is to take full advantage of the site’s unique conditions (laminar breeze, obstacle-free slopes) to:

• have fun with ground handling and kiting
• improve wing control in strong wind
• refine your precision piloting if conditions allow (low-level flight / top landing, etc.)
• maximize learning efficiency: more practice time, close instructor supervision

What is the program of the Dune paragliding course?

The Dune course is for autonomous pilots (takeoff / landing) with their own equipment (harness with protection required), and some experience with reverse inflation (even limited).

The course is supervised by two instructors for a group of 6 students, allowing everyone to practice simultaneously and progress at their own pace.

The course runs for 5 days (+1 backup day): from Monday to Saturday. It includes:

Practical sessions:

• Training in “strong wind”: preparation, inflation techniques, collapsing the wing, and safety procedures
• Static and dynamic ground exercises: window control, kiting, barefoot gliding
• Games (depending on group): races, relay challenges, etc.
• In-flight exercises depending on conditions and relevance: flight regimes, top landing, etc.

Our goal is to provide at least 5 practical sessions of 2 hours each. If you're up for it and the conditions are great, our instructors are happy to continue longer.

Theoretical sessions:

• Exercise briefings
• Video debriefings
• Theoretical topics related to soaring

Total theoretical content: approx. 10 hours

The course fee includes instruction only. Transport, accommodation, and meals are the responsibility of the participant.
