The idea for the Guide de Chabre took shape through the efforts of Karlis Jaunpetrovics on YouTube. Flight debriefings have always been a way for him to improve his own paragliding. On his YouTube channel, he has decided to go one step further. By making the flight debriefs public, it prompted him to analyze the Chabre area in much greater depth, to really think about why things happen the way they do. This led him to create a challenge for the local site where he lives, here in France.

The Chabre Challenge: a step-by-step guide

In early 2022, Karlis created the Chabre Challenge, a step-by-step guide to a 100 km flight from Chabre. It's a 24-page PDF that participants can obtain by subscribing to his e-mail list (still available there). The guide has been very well received by the pilot community. Drivers appreciated the quality of the content. As the season progressed, more and more pilots asked Karlis to create several tasks in the same spirit as the Chabre Challenge.
