Protecting your wings by folding

To ensure the longevity of your wings, the most effective method is quality folding in concertina or sausage bags. This will keep the rods in position and avoid distorting the wing's profile. However, folding can sometimes create false folds. To avoid this, Cross Country has come up with a simple but highly efficient solution.

The XC Bubble inflatable rod protector offers the same effective protection as brand-supplied pillows, but takes up no space in your harness pocket. A wing with long stems needs good maintenance. This involves wrapping the wing around a protector when folding. Once you've accordion-folded your wing using a concertina bag, the protector should be placed one-third of the way up the wing from the leading edge.
