Measure temperature and wind speed with the Skywatch Météos anemometer-thermometer

TheSkywatch Météos anemometer-thermometer is a tool for measuring wind strength and temperature. Its multidirectional turbine with 54mm diameter propeller enables it to measure ambient weather conditions with great precision, even without perfect orientation. Unlike the Skywatch Eole in the JDC range, it is also capable of instantly indicating the temperature felt by your body when the wind is blowing.

The Skywatch Méteos is powered by two replaceable LR6 batteries. These provide several years' autonomy with regular use. Display is to the tenth of a unit up to 99.9, then to the unit. The thread on the underside of the device makes it easy to attach to a tripod. In this position, you can check the weather conditions at any time.

It's also unsinkable and waterproof. Even if it's dropped in the water, it won't sink and its components won't be damaged. What's more, the backlighting means it can be used even when daylight is fading. The protective cap extends the life of the propeller.

Why use an anemometer-thermometer?

Low temperatures are dangerous for the human body. Once you fall below a certain temperature, you multiply the risk of frostbite or hypothermia. And it's the wind that strongly influences the actual temperatures felt by your body. Thanks to Skywatch Météos, you'll be able to quickly check your body's actual temperature, and warn you of the risks associated with the cold.

The temperature you feel is calculated by taking two factors into account: ambient temperature and wind speed. In windy conditions, it gives an indication of heat loss if the temperature is below 37°C . Conversely, it indicates an increase in heat if the temperature is above 37°C. For example, an ambient temperature of 0°C and a wind speed of 30 km/h have the same effect on your body as a temperature of -13°C.

Skywatch Météos features

The Skywatch Météos from JDC Electronic offers a comfortable grip thanks to its weight, size and side pad. It's also easy to read with its large display. It features a low battery indicator and can be used between -20° C and 70° C.

TheSkywatch Météos anemometer-thermometer displays instantaneous wind speed data over a measurement range from 2 to 150 km/h. It also includes average wind speed calculated over a period of 3 seconds to 24 hours, as well as maximum wind speed. You can also use a timer to define your own calculation period.

As for temperature, it retrieves instantaneous, maximum and minimum temperature data, as well as the wind chill. As for speed, it calculates an average temperature over a fixed period ranging from 3 seconds to 24 hours, or over a period determined by you.
