The Yeti UL is a " PLAN " rescue parachute, a new concept like the standard Pull Down Apex or Carré. The"PLAN" rescue parachute is a new concept developed in-house by Gin Gliders, incorporating "suspended partitions".
Lines are attached to triangular partitions, inserted perpendicularly into the canopy shape. This technique considerably reduces the surface ballooning of the parachute, resulting in a virtually flat upper surface. The projected surface area is increased by 30%. The projected area is the most important element of a rescue parachute: it determines the sink rate. Gin has achieved excellent sink rates by reducing the flat surface but optimizing the projected surface.
Ultimately, the performance of this new concept is the best ever achieved. The Plan rescue parachute offers maximum safety while being as compact as possible. It comes with a 36 cm short riser

During development, we took great care to optimize air circulation to ensure that the rescue descends vertically without drifting or following a horizontal trajectory. The basic shape of the rescue is square and completely symmetrical. The canopy shape, the packing procedure and the ultra-light fabric all contribute to excellent opening characteristics, better than any other type of rescue parachute.
